Long thin lump?
Hi everyone, It has been a long time since I have been on the community. My breast anxiety was pretty well under control. But recently I felt something very strange in my breast. I was massaging my breasts, I don't know why actually. And I came across some sort of longish lump/ridge. Maybe 3mm x 15 mm long. So almost like…

Radiology onc referral & does gender matter?
After a brief discussion, my medical oncologist hurriedly set up a consultation with a male RO. Said he was detailed, a little OCD (joking)… inferred I would like him because, dunno, I ask technical questions. He named a female RO “if that would make you more comfortable.” I went with the male. Now I am mulling it over.…

Ibrance for early-stage breast cancer?
To be clear, I am not stage 4. I am currently on Tamoxifen and Verzenio after a stage 2b diagnosis, surgery, chemo, and radiation. A recent CT scan indicated 15-20 lung nodules, largest 1.5cm, that were "suspicious for metastasis" per radiologist. Oncologist is concerned with the risks of trying to biopsy, so I will have a…

Weird sensation
Hi! Quick background, Stage 1A IDC, triple positive, grade 3. Tx: lumpectomy, chemo, radiation, 1 year of herceptin and now on tamoxifen. Just recently I've started experiencing a weird feeling in my cancer breast akin to the sensation of milk letting down. Starts up by the arm pit and moves to the nipple. My youngest is 9…

Ibrance
I have been taken Ibrance with AI for over 2 years. I have bone only Mets when I first diagnosed as MBC. Ibrance worked very well in the first year and second and brought my CEA to 1-2 range. Since early this year, my CEA went up to 3, 4, and 5. My CEA lab yesterday is 7 and CA15-3 is 37. My CT/bone scan shows no changes…

Stage IV ER+, PR- and HER2+
Hello, I was wondering if there are others who are also dealing with Stage IV breast cancer that is ER+ (2%), PR-, and HER2+ and has spread to their bones. Recently diagnosed earlier this year and completed six cycles of PACL(W)+PERT+TRAS and am currently receiving PERT+TRAS every three weeks. I'm interested in learning…

Eyelashes and eyebrows
Hi all. Starting last December, I had 4 A/C treatments (every other week), followed by 12 weekly Taxol treatments. The hair on my head fell out in late December. I finished A/C in late January and started Taxol then. During all that, I didn't have much loss of eyebrows or eyelashes. I noticed some thinning of my eyebrows…

Has anyone had any side effects such as fatique and tenderness in the rib and area that is being treated? I'm exhausted and everytime I bring it up I get told its too early to have any side effects. But I literally feel like a truck ran me over backed up and did it again. Even before treatement began I felt exhausted (the…

On the edge of SEVENTEEN
And this year my cancerversary actually falls on the same day of the week that it did in 2006. I remember that Friday as if it were yesterday - and yet it still feels as if it happened to a different person. This year, instead of waiting for my husband to get home from work so I could collapse into his arms with the…

Scared thick uterus lining
Hi everyone! Went in today for a vaginal US which shows very thick uterine lining. No polyps or fibroids. My last two periods have been very heavy and painful and last longer than usual. The Dr said this could be caused by the tamoxifen but that I need a biopsy. I'm obviously scared, and sad. Just hearing the word biopsy,…

Aromatase Inhibitor Therapy Longer Than 10 Years
I've been on Femara since July 2012. Ten years last month. I would love to be done with this drug--I can't sleep well, I can't lose weight, I get UTIs every time I ride my bike. My bones have suffered a bit but I'm on a bisphosphonate and it's helping. Femara is my mental safety net. I'm afraid to stop. There's not a lot…

LCIS future
Hi, I'm 37 and was just told I have LCIS . I had an excision done on a radial scar and found it to have LCIS cells. They said my margins looked good. I'm here because I am scared and worried and surprised by this news. I'm wondering what I do now and what treatments I'm looking at now? I keep telling myself I don't have…

Physician left
I received a call from my oncology department yesterday that my oncologist has left for medical reasons and won't be returning. I will be seeing a PA on Thursday. He is the only oncologist at the facility that sees breast cancer patients that I trust. One I had issues with back in 2015. The other one I learned when…

Enhancing duct and unspecified mass…thoughts?
Hi everyone! What a rollercoaster we are all on. Initially I bragged about how swiftly this all moves…until it stopped…now I’m not sure it would move if I didn’t push! But that’s not why I’m here right now :) I started with clear nipple discharge maybe two months ago, maybe longer. Six weeks ago I had drops, then a big…

Now diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, but Im not convinced.
I've been having severe joint pain and assumed it was from the Femara. I had switched PCPs, and the new PCP did lots of blood work. My rheumatoid factor was very high, so she went me to a rheumatologist. He also did blood work; again, my rheumatoid factor was very high. He did x-rays on my hands and hip. Now he has…

AC to T treatment. Paclitaxel side effects?
For context, I am half way through my program and have been treated with doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide. I have completed my first paclitaxel treatment. I suffered more pain from the paclitaxel than the previous medicines. I suffered from leg muscle pain, foot pain and knee pain. I never felt so miserable. At night time,…

Micro-invasive DCIS that is her2+++
By clinical definition a true microinvasion is "IDC(Invasive Ductal Carcinoma) that is 1mm or less in its greatest dimension". As requested a separate forum index for those of us who had true Micro-Invasive DCIS that was her2+++. Yes, we are a rare bunch but lately there have been a few more of us that joined BC.org and…

I’m waiting for Oncotype results & thinking about upcoming treatment.
I’m not sure this is in the right place for this discussion. I’m waiting on my oncotype results and I have an appointment scheduled this week with my MO. I don’t have an RO yet, but am told by my surgeon and MO to expect radiation as part of my treatment plan. I’m a little confused, does hormone therapy normally follow…

Bi-Rad 0 and confused
I am 35 years old with no family history of breast cancer, and currently have a 3-4cm palpable mass in my right breast. I noticed it a few months ago, and last week at my annual OBGYN appointment, my provider noticed it as well. Today I had a mammogram and ultrasound, but did not really get any clarity. The radiologist…

This may help some financially
This is good info, if not for current or future needs. I was diagnosed with stage 4 denovo mbc in 2018. I was fortunate enough to access BCCP Medicaid. That paid for all my treatments and meds. In May I turned 65 and was signed up for Medicare (really I didn't sign up for it, they just put me on it.) My Medicaid is gone at…

Direct to implant, plastic surgeons only want to do prepectoral
Met with 2 plastic surgeons in my area and both said 'under the muscle' implants for reconstruction are a thing of the past and modern doctors only do prepectoral implants now with ADMs (allograft to create the pocket). The reason being that under the muscle implants can cause animation deformity when flexing the muscle.…
