TSA Advice? Bilateral Mastectomy
I am looking for advice about getting through TSA screening without extra embarrassment. I had a bilateral mastectomy, no reconstruction, all healed now. I am comfortable with this new body in everyday situations and also at my community swimming pool where I work out without prostheses. But I am terrified of TSA. During…

Problems with implants
Hi! I have breast implants with Mentor silicone, since 2017. I think there is something wrong with them, because the shape has changed, they have become very soft and one of my breasts hurts. I read an article in which it was written that exposure to extreme temperatures, during heatwaves, can affect the lifespan of the…

Brain Fog and Cognitive Effects
I didn't see a recent thread for this so I thought I would create one. When I first started hormone therapy I was placed on Tamoxifen. I started it just a few months after chemotherapy, and between the two I experienced pretty thick brain fog in some respects. I'm on Lupron and Anastrozole now and my mind is significantly…

Triple Negative, Stage 1 Thinking NO CHEMO
Hello all, I'm 44 years of age just recently diagnosed with cancer. My oncologist recommends carboplatin & paclitaxel chemo. After much research, I'm looking for alternatives to chemo. I am a PALB carrier and I'm not sure chemo would add any benefits to my situation. Is there anyone else that could shine some light on this…

No sleep for three days on brand name Arimidex
Hello, back again for your sage advice and shared experiences. I started brand name Arimidex a week ago. If I took in the AM, I'd feel catatonic all day, completely dissasociated from my brain and exhausted. So I started taking at night but was utterly wired all night long. No sleep. Not even with prescription sleep meds.…

Newbie - Diagnosed IDC T1N0 HER+, PgR+, HER2- and DCIS
Hello, I'm 57 and was diagnosed in July. I had a lumpectomy which removed the .4mm tumor and tissue with DCIS, the margins were clear, then had a sentinel biopsy which came out negative. Letrozole side effects (DRY EYE, Fatigue)
I had no side effects for the first 6 months on Letrozole. I have now been on it for 16 months and feel terrible. My first side effect was joint pain. That is now better that I am taking Glucosamine Chondroiton and omega 3 fish oil. I had some symptoms of dry eye disease previously and have been using over the counter eye…

Red spot
Debated which forum to ask about this. About 2 1/2 weeks after my exchange surgery I noticed a small red mark on my breast (about 1 to 1.5 cm in diameter). It is not near nipple (I had nipple sparing) or incision (inframammary fold). About 3 o’clock position. Went from completely clear skin to noticing this mark. No other…

Hi lovelies! I had a cat scan on Monday due to weird chest pain that was diagnosed as an irritation, given meds, went away, all good. Question about Nuclear Whole Body Bone Scan
I had a nuclear whole body bone scan this week and I had taken a disk and report with me from my previous scan which was done at another hospital in 2018. I was told they loaded that information on their computer. When I got the report, it said "comparison: None." I am wondering if those scans are like Dexa Scans which…

The dumbest things people have said to you/about you
Ok, I know, it might sound mean to make fun of people or call them "stupid" or "idiots". But I am sure that in your journey you had quite a bit of stupid/insensitive or plain dumb stuff told to you. And you wanted to just get those people by their collar and shake them real well (or maybe who knows, just give them a good…

Bone Mets/PAIN
I apologize if there's already a thread on this topic, but I'm still having a difficult time navigating this new format. I've tried the search fields, but it's not directing me to a common thread. Anyway, I'm having a BAD pain day. Bone mets basically everywhere in my chest cavity. RIBS especially, sacrum, etc. I'm on…

She was diagnosed on Valentine's Day 2022. Done with chemo, done with radiation, taking Anastrazole for 10 years, almost done with gabapentin. She tried…

Some discomfort
4 months ago, yearly mammo showed another dcis, behind my lumpectomy scar where my old dcis was —3 1/2 years ago. Surgeon wanted to watch it, and have me take a "baby" amt of tamox. Which I haven't. The dcis was very small. (I'm due for my 6 mos mammo follow up in two months.) But, I've noticed some pain in the breast, or…
