Large lump found
Hi all. This morning I found a large lump in my right breast. I have just been to doctors and she checked my armpits (all fine) She said the lump was large but she could move it around and didn't seem sinister. She said a possibility is because of hormones. I am 44 and my period came yesterday although I am starting to get…

“Last” chemo feelings
Hello everyone who has finished chemo! It’s my last chemo in a few weeks. I know I should be happy after five months of it but I’m having a hard time thinking/believing it’s the “end” of this particular treatment (my surgery is in July) - I feel I have a bullseye on my back, it’s going to get me again (various “bad”…

Tamoxifen side effects; when do they start?
I have been on Tamoxifen for almost 8 weeks now and have yet to really have any side affects. My oncologist told me it takes about 4 weeks for them to start showing up. I've had some cramping but I had my IUD out the day before I started taking it. So that could be the culprit of the cramps. No hot flashes, maybe some…

Looking for anyone stopping Tamoxifen after 5-10 years?
I am finally finished with Tamoxifen after 9 years. I wanted to reach out to others to see how they are doing weaning off the drug. The hot flashes, which was my main side effect seemed to have slowed down so I don''t have them as often. Wondering how anyone else was doing. It's been a long haul. Anyone who is still on…

Flying after surgery
Hello friends, I am flying to MD Anderson in Houston in a few days for a double mastectomy (without reconstruction) and I had a few questions about post operative recovery. * How long do you think I will need before I am able to to handle a 3 hour flight? Our surgeon said the next day, but that seems way too soon for me. I…

Elevated CA 15-3
I am so sick of worrying about every little thing! Has anyone experienced this or have any knowledge of this? Had my blood work done and my CA 15-3 came back at 35, last time it was 27. I thought survival rates were better. Negative thinking.
So, having a scare about recurrence I am doing all kinds of research and basically rotting my brain and increasing my worry. I have to say the mainstream media portrayal of breast cancer is that most people can live a long time now after it but then I see the rates of survival for some cancers and they act as though 5 year…
