Almost made it to 10 years...new LCIS DCIS diagnosis
This ain't my first rodeo. I haven't been on this forum for a while. I was diagnosed with ILC HER2Neu triple positive (rare, i know) in 2012 in my left breast ,had 37 radiation treatments and a lumpectomy and had been free and clear..until June 22, 2022 when I flunked my annual mammogram. Suspicious calcifications in my…

Missing my breasts as I contemplate sex
My bilateral mastectomy was in 2010, I was on these boards a lot when this forum was created. Feels like a lifetime ago. At that time, I felt perfectly fine about being flat; I was far more traumatized by having had an aggressive stage III cancer that had a relatively high risk of killing me. The AI had taken away my sex…

To have reconstruction or not to have
I'm torn. I'm a uniboob at the moment. Reconstruction is scheduled. The problem that I'm having is that I really don't want another surgery but I don't want people to set and wonder why I look so weird. So I guess I'm looking for the pro and cons of having two breast or having just one. I can live with just one that's not…

Thin Slices of Joy
I finished active treatment less than a month ago, and wow, you just don't bounce right back up. Before all this started I have had sciatica for a couple of years, and it worsened during treatment. In trying to recover from both, I've been feeling frustrated. Now, I'm tired of the pain, fatigue, and frustration. Oh, and…

PET Scan Post Neoadjuvant Chemo
Hello, I just did my follow up PET. Seems like nodes are normal; breast has some intensity but it is much less than before. I asked my surgeon if I can still get PCR; response is, we don't know. Is there anyone here who had some residual shown on PET, but had PCR? Thanks. -TS

Bilateral mastectomies for atypical ductal hyperplasia (ALH)?
Hi, I'm new here & recently diagnosed with two radial sclerosing lesions, one of which the biopsy showed contained atypical ducatal hyperplasia (ALH) in the same breast. The other was benign, but I still have to get both of them surgically removed. My breast surgeon ran 'my numbers' through the database and told me my…

New Here - Feb 2023 surgery, anyone?
Hi All, This is my first post. I was diagnosed with IDC on 12/21. I learned on 1/10 that it's triple positive and that I need a mastectomy followed by chemo as well as HER2 treatment. (Sorry, I don't have all the lingo down yet, so I may not have phrased all of this correctly.) My surgery is scheduled for 2/2 - 16 days…

A small update on my IBC diagnosis journey & questions
Hi everyone. I am 36F with IBC symptoms in my left breast (skin thickening and widespread discoloration following popping what looked like a cyst). Question for those who have implant reconstruction
Anyone with implants stop seeing their PS after their final post-op appointment? I have a scheduled appointment in September, but would like to stop seeing him. Dating after a Masectomy
Hi everyone! I got divorced and then diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018 when I was 53 years old. I had a double masectomy with reconstruction (non nipple-sparing) and was fortunate enough to not have to go through chemo and radiation. My question is this--at what point do I tell someone I am dating that my breasts are…
