Port
I just finished chemo and am trying to figure out if I want my port removed. Initially I wanted it out ASAP but then my nurse and oncologist said that I would be having blood work done every 3-6 months for now and it might be worth it to keep it in. I would appreciate hearing how long other people kept theirs in

Unexpected removal of lymph nodes during BMX?
After a lumpectomy where i failed to get clean margins, I opted for a BMX. Because of existing neuropathy in one of my hands and arms, it was discussed and agreed upon with my surgeon, that I would not have lymph nodes removed. I just received my pathology and see that I had 4 lymph nodes removed on the non-cancerous…

Hyper awareness/anxiety or IBC
In 2015, I found myself here as I was experiencing some skin changes with my breast and upon googling (the worst, I know), found out ibc existed. I didn’t have it, thank God, but it took 3 diff breast doctors to tell me that. My mind created all sorts of problems. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and my right breast (which…

Focal asymmetry & nipple inversion
hello! I’m a 47 year old mom to 3 teens! I just had my yearly mammo a few days ago. It was my 4th one. Previous ones all had been great. I don’t have any symptoms that I’ve noticed. Except a couple years ago I had slightly bloody discharge from my right nipple. Ended up having it removed and it was an intraductal…

Nipple Tattoo?
Has anyone done this? Did it last? Was it worth it? I’m thinking about this after listening to this TED Talk. I’m “flat” with nipple grafts. I have a few areas where the cells didn’t survive so it’s a bit splotchy and uneven (but I’m so glad I chose to have nipples!

Just diagnosed DCIS grade 3 after many benign biopsies
I joined here in 2017 with questions after finding out I was CHEK2 positive and a many-year (close to 20) history of nipple discharge. I had I think 3 ultrasound guided biopsies around that time and all came back benign intraductal papillomas. Although the CHEK2 put me in a higher risk category there is no breast cancer…

Hi, i have a few questions and i wonder if anybody had the same experience. 1. I recently had my Mastectomy done and the doctor performed a sentinel node biopsy for me. Prosthetics Prior to Reconstruction - Insurance?
I had a DMX on Jan 4th with TE's. Earlier this week, I lost both TE's to necrotic wound edges and possible infections, so it will be 6 months before we can even attempt to begin reconstruction again. I'm not flat...I'm concave at this point! My question is, I know insurance will pay for prosthetics or reconstruction, but…

Post Mastectomy Pain Syndrome (PMPS)
The purpose for this forum is to discuss the concerns of women experiencing pain several months following their mastectomy. Focal asymmetry not seen on ultrasound but present in mammograms
Hello! I'm so confused after reading my report. It's very generic compared to others I'm seeing posted here. That actually annoys me. I'm not overly worried but I'm not, not worried either. I'm scheduled for a biopsy next Tuesday. I'm not thrilled about the thought of that. I've always had dense breasts. If I remember…

Dimple/inversion.. ultrasound tomorrow.
In 2021, I noticed that my nipple was inverted. There was some intense pain for a couple of weeks in that nipple, but the pain went away. I felt for lumps but never did a breast exam correctly. Single MX and matching natural breast
Hi! I have single MX surgery coming up on 2/9. I think I was still shell shocked when I met with my plastic surgeon, so I can't remember what he said about how he'll augment my natural breast to match the reconstructed side. I am an A cup. Can anyone tell me what is likely going to be done to kinda beef it up to match? I'm…

Breast needle biopsy to blame?
It might be a long shot but I wanted to see if anyone ever had a similar experience with a breast needle biopsy. I had an appointment with…
