Aromatase Inhibitors and GERD?
Hello friends, Has anyone dealt with reflux or GERD while taking AI’s? If so, have you used medication to deal with it and what was the result? (I’m on my second AI, so that’s 2 1/2 years with severe reflux. Working with a gastroenterologist now to manage the reflux and try to stay on Exemestane for a few more years.)…

Newly diagnosed, sort of
Hi - I’m new here, 56 years old, terrified and frustrated with the long timeline for my diagnosis. Since my mammogram on Nov 22, 2024, I’ve been sinking deeply into paralyzing despair with each new waiting period followed by a new piece of bad news. (1) calcifications on right breast mammogram, (2) magnified mammogram…

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has changed plastic surgeons during their reconstruction after a mastectomy? Just over a week ago I had a bilateral mastectomy with tissue expanders behind the muscle and would like to change plastic surgeons. My current surgeon does not answer my questions, does not have a nurse or P.A. that I…

Officially a member of the club no one wants to be a part of
I'm 39 and was diagnosed with IDC this past Friday after my biopsy last Wednesday — a 0.7cm grade 2 tumor in left breast (smaller than reported on my mammo & US…weird), and unfortunately, cancer cells were found in the left axillary lymph node that was biopsied, too. Sample taken from right breast was all clear. What I do…

Does anyone else still have their primary tumor?
I still have my primary tumor because surgery was not recommended at the time of my diagnosis. I have no desire for surgery but am getting interested in cryoablation. Just curious if anyone else has their tumor and what they are thinking. My tumor is deep in my chest wall and doesn't bother me at all.

Fareston (toremifene) for MBC post-menopause
Are there any Stage IV ER++ ladies here on toremifene as hormonal therapy? I have an MO appt next week and am going to ask about switching from Arimidex. My reasons for wanting to switch - I think I am developing carpal tunnel in my left hand, which can be a side effect of anastrozole. My pinky on that hand is now…

Cognitive issues and stimulants
Since having worse and worse short term memory and attention difficulties, I was considering asking my care team for a trial of a stimulant. I’m at 3 1/2 years on tamoxifen and now over 50, so not sure if time on therapy plus dwindling estrogen is the cause. Has anyone had success overcoming cognitive difficulties with a…

Cancer research
Good evening, everyone. I’m trying to keep this post focused on research and away from politics. Any one else concerned about the pause in cancer research? Cryoablation - A better treatment option for some?
I've looked into Cryoablation extensively and am now interviewing doctors and medical facilities that offer this treatment. It appears insurance companies are staying far away from this for many reasons as it appears to be a much safer, shorter, long term solution that is much less expensive if that makes any sense.…
