Looking for advice re: hormone treatments
Hello - I am a 77 year old, post-menopausal woman and am new here. I was recently diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma of the breast. I've had multiple tests, including CT scans, MRI's, ultrasounds, biopsies, and an Oncotype DX Breast Recurrence test. I had a lumpectomy about a month ago. They removed a 23mm tumor…

Red Breast Syndrome from Alloderm
Almost 4 weeks to the date post BMX, I got a red rash on lower half of 1 breast. I have acellular dermal matrix in place under a direct to implant 410 gummie. I read the ADM (alloderm) causes this in some people. Anyone else had this? Wondering how long it will last & if anyone was treated with steroids?

lymphovascular invasion or tissue displacement dcis
Just got my final pathology report after BMX, still pure DCIS. My Surgeon said no chemo, no radiotherapy and no tamoxifen. After reading through the whole report, there is one additional comment I don't quite understand: "In one block, at the edge of the tissue and partially within a thick walled vessel, there is a group…

Did you consider bilateral mastectomy for DCIS?
I am really struggling to make a decision about the best path forward, so I've come to learn from all of you. I am still waiting on genetic testing results to come through, but have no reason to believe that there will be anything of significance. If there is, I will pivot accordingly. I had a 1.2cm, grade 3 DCIS with…

How do you lift your spirits, even briefly...
…when you receive troubling news about your tx, health, etc.? How do you comfort yourself and make yourself feel safe in spite of troubling labs, scans, etc.? I ask because it seems lately my check ups have been disappointing and although I try not to have any expectations about any of the tx I'm getting, I have to have…

Is hospice care the right choice for my mom, or should we explore other options?
My mom has been battling breast cancer for years, but recently, the doctors gave us some devastating news. Her cancer has progressed to stage 4, and they’ve informed us that chemotherapy is no longer an option. The treatment would no longer be effective, and it’s simply too late to try and fight the cancer with traditional…

Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Treatment: Where Are We?
Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Treatment: Where Are We? Dr. Lisa Carey explains the latest research on TNBC treatments. Mar 7, 2025 About 10% to 15% of breast cancers are triple-negative. Stereotactic for 2cm Mass. Your thoughts?
I (43F) had my yearly mammogram in September. Shortly thereafter I was called to come back in for a 2nd one + ultrasound due to discovery of a 2cm mass in my left breast that was not there 1 year ago.
