34 & recovering from 3rd lumpectomy in 3 years…so over it!
Hi all, I’ve been around the forums since my first BIRADS 4C biopsy back in 2019 right after I turned 30. Came back as a radial scar with ADH and a few other things. Since then, I’ve had 6-month alternating mammo/US and MRIs because I have extremely dense breasts, and I’ve had 2 more biopsies which have both resulted in…

Wishes Fulfilled, and a Legacy
A few months ago I posted about entering hospice and received many precious notes from well-wishers across the world. Your kind words mean so much to me that I’ve placed them in a document to look at whenever I need a lift! Words indeed support the healing process, and I am very grateful for being a recipient of so many…

Lumpectomy Lounge....let's talk!
WELCOME TO THE LUMPECTOMY LOUNGE! I've searched and searched BC.org and couldn't find a specific post just for those of us who have had lumpectomies (unless there was one and it got buried). So, I thought that it was about time that we had our own place that we can come to...where we can discuss, ask questions, tell…

BC & Autoimmune Diseases: How many? What does the research say?
A 7-year BC survivor, I've developed an autoimmune disease that so far has not been clearly diagnosed: different docs say different things: Rheumatic arthritis; psoriatric arthritis, testing positive for lupus without the typical symptoms ... My symptoms are a progressive eczema on my hands: skin thickening, itchy then…

Tested for Illegal Drugs
At our last office visit my MO gave me a print out of the previous week's labs. I didn't notice until I got home, but in addition to the usual labs, they tested my blood for cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl and others, mostly schedule II drugs. Could this be something to do with Medicare regulations?

Did breast cancer prematurely age your brain?
Hi, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 hormone positive BC when I was 54. I underwent a bilateral mastectomy and had 16 lymph nodes removed which caused lymphedema (albeit mild, luckily). I’m going to be 61 in a few weeks and happy to say that as far as I know, I’m still cancer free. Yeah! But the disease and the hormone therapy…

Completed 8 years on Letrozole - trying to control hormones/hot flashes/weight gain
It's been nearly 10 years since my diagnosis of Stage 2 Breast Cancer at age 48. After surgery & treatment, I was on letrozole for nearly 8 years. It was a challenge to tolerate it - joint pain, hair loss, exhaustion etc., but I did for almost 8 years hoping the benefits would outweigh the risks. Unfortunately my blood…

Redness / swelling 4 weeks after lumpectomy
Hi all, I’m just curious if anyone developed sudden redness and swelling and increased tenderness several weeks after their surgery? My lumpectomy seemed to be healing very well until day 28, when I suddenly woke up with more pain/swelling and developed redness in the breast. I saw my surgeon that day, who aspirated some…

4mm irregular mass
Hi, I had a 3D mammo and they found a 4mm irregular mass in the middle lower base. They said because of insurance reasons I have to wait for a diagnostic mammo and ultrasound. I am losing my mind.
