Sex and cancer. The dirty talk - from intimacy to roommates
My husband and I had a strong intimate relationship before cancer. I understood we would have down cycles in our marriage, but breast cancer brought a new definition into my home for the word "downcycle." After my diagnosis, my husband and I discussed the expected changes to our intimacy. We knew it would change, but we…

Severe depression after finishing treatment
I finished 6 months of chemo and had double mastectomy with reconstruction almost 4 months ago(very end of February) for TNBC. I had pCr… Since then I deal with adrenal insufficiency caused by Keytruda/Pembrolizumab and went few times at the ER for low Na levels. But in the aftermath, the most horrific is the depression…

Bone Pain from Mets or AI?
I am recovering from my third breast cancer dx and have been getting numbness and pain in my ribs, legs and hips. It gets worse at night when I lay down. During the day it doesn't bother me too much or stop me from going about my normal daily activities. I just had my normal bloodwork which was ordered by my cardiologist.…

Anyone have problems with fatigue prior to diagnosis?
I've been reading on the mayo clinic's website about the many possible causes of fatigue during chemo (I'm in my 3rd chemo cycle); one that is mentioned is that the cancer itself can cause fatigue. I was diagnosed in May with Stage 1 IBC, a 1.1cm tumor, no node involvement. It seems unlikely to me that it would have caused…

Needing a ultrasound
I had a small bruise on my right breast. I got a script from my doctor for my mammogram from the physician’s assistant. I had the mammogram on Monday night. The hospital imaging called me back the next morning and recommended I come back. They found a 1cm asymmetry nodule on the right breast. They recommend an ultrasound…

Phase 3 SONIA Trial Challenges the Routine Practice of Using a 1st Line CDK4/6 Inhibitor
Those with HR+, HER2- MBC may find this interesting! Immunotherapy for hormone positive, HER2- breast cancer
I like to keep up with medical trials and research for breast cancer and was wondering if anyone knew anything about using keytruda for hormone positive, HER2- tumors. It seems there are some trials going on right now with it but I can't get an inkling on how it's going. Any news that anyone knows about? Just wondering if…

Crusty Nipple 3 Months after Completing Rads
Hi all. I haven't been here in a while after recovering from my radiation after 3 months. I just noticed this week that I started having stabbing pains at the surgical site, which caused me to pay closer attention to my breast. I noticed the orange peel look had returned to my breast and that a layer of crust had developed…

Prior calcifications, now bloody discharge
Hi all, I know this is not a board for medical advice, I guess I just needed to write this down in a place where people would "get it". I'm in my early 40's, two years ago my annual mammogram came back with a cluster of microcalcifications in my right breast. I had a follow up diagnostic, and was categorized as BIRADS 4.…

Is seven weeks too long to wait for radiation after lumpectomy?
I had my surgery on May 4th and can't even get in to see a radiologist until June 9th. The front office said radiation would usually start two weeks after this visit. I'm concerned as everything I've read said ideally radiation should start 4-6 weeks for older people (I'm 60) to prevent reoccurance. Has anyone else had to…

Large lump found
Hi all. This morning I found a large lump in my right breast. I have just been to doctors and she checked my armpits (all fine) She said the lump was large but she could move it around and didn't seem sinister. She said a possibility is because of hormones. I am 44 and my period came yesterday although I am starting to get…
