Pain in Breast 7 years post Radiation
I am seven years post radiation therapy on my right breast. I am very active and work out regularly. I have had very few issues. All my mammograms have been normal except showing fibrosis of the right breast. I was discharged early from my cancer doctors because I was not able to tolerate Hormone Therapy. Over the several…

DCIS & pregnancy?
Hi. New here and just diagnosed about 2 weeks ago with DCIS in left breast, 5cm, stage 2 with comedonecrosis. I have been trying to have a baby for over 3 years (just turned 40 this year) and was pursuing IVF before my diagnosis. It appears that my IVF treatments have been fueling the DCIS (estrogen positive at 81%,…

Burn under arm 4 weeks into radiation treatment
so I am getting a little worried here because I’m supposed to be getting radiation therapy to both my left and right breast. Now on the left side, they are radiating the nodes under my left arm and by my collarbone. I had a mastectomy on the left side back in January and immediate reconstruction with an LD flap. My right…

Waiting to hear...Have you checked your patient portal?
Sisters, By day two of waiting for my biopsy result, I decide to look into my hospital's patient portal. You may have set up an account yourself with your doctor's office. To my surprise my results were right there under "RESULTS" and thankfully was good news. My doctor called to give me the results over the phone another…

Mosquito bite
Hi all! This evening(some two hours ago) I was bitten by a mosquito on the arm with axillary clearance, on the mastectomy side. I`m freaking out about lymphedema now. I washed it with soap and I`m keeping ice on it. Any advice on what to do, please? How big is the risk now?

Hard lump on wrist

I recently discovered a small hard bony lump on my wrist that feels like it is part of the bone and it sticks out and I have never noticed it before. It is about a little over half a centimeter round. There is no…

Just found mass on forearm
I have been watching a mass/lump on my forearm for about 4-weeks, it is on the same side as my original breast cancer. I saw the doctor yester day and now I'm having an ultrasound of my lower forearm and upper area on Monday. The doctor said it is not lymphedema. Has anyone had this happen to them? July 2023 will mark my…

Should I be concerned about the bad impact from compression as ABUS imaging is extremely painful
I did the breast ultrasound screening a few days ago. The breast ultrasound screening was *extremely* painful, much more painful than mammo. In the breast ultrasound screening, I felt that the compression was too much. And I felt so painful that I had to make a tight fist and make a sound. I told the lady I felt very very…

Do not feel social
Is it normal to not want to be around people? While I enjoy being with friends and family I do not feel like being around people and having to say that it is fine when mentally I am not ok. I want to be alone to process all that is going on but my husband wants me to keep a positive attitude and he feels that being alone…

Welcome to the "New Oncotype DX Roll Call"! moodyk13 started this thread when she was looking for some help with her oncotype score and discovered that many people want advice or info regarding this test that so many of our oncologists use to help us make treatment decisions. She very generously built it to what it is now…

More firmer tissue....
I'm 29, no family history. If you are interested you can take a peek at my post history, this has been going on for a few years now... but the tl;dr is that in one breast I've been noticing the tissue get thicker/firmer than the tissue on the other side. Not a lot, it still feels like normal breast tissue according to the…

Architectural Distortion
Hello Group. I am so worried and would ask for some advice and support. I have constant call backs on my mammograms and I am fearing that the ongoing callbacks are ominous. Several years ago on my left breast I had a surgical biopsy, it was calicification. Then four years ago I had a needle biopsy on my right breast,…

No hormone therapy needed?
I recently had a double mastectomy and am in the process of reconstruction. All sentinel node‘s (8) we’re negative, and I had lobular invasive and LCIS. The Largest cancer was 3mm. Has anyone quit or reduced dosage of the hormonal therapy?
I am considering to quit, after taking Tamoxifen for a year, Letrozole for three months, then Exemestane for a month. Side effects, especially joint pains and fatigue, get worse and worse and have come to the point to make me think if I should quit. Or, would there be any option of reducing dosage, like taking every other…

Has anyone had a VUS for VHL ended up with BC ?
Hi Friends ~ While waiting for my BC diagnostic & pathology reports, I paid to have BRCA 1&2 testing done through Life Labs here in 🇨🇦 which use INVITAE in California (I tested negative for both BRCA 1&2) I then had an additional panel evaluate 47 genes & received the following result. "A VUS, identified in VHL. VHL, Exon…

Ductal Excision- Is this normal?
On Thursday, 6/8 I had a central duct excision due to bloody nipple discharge. I have pretty extensive bruising (which i expected) but now I am noticing something strange. On the nipple itself (not the areola), away from the incision, i am noticing these dark almost black spots forming. This morning one of the black spots…

Self adhesive prosthetic?
So, I had my “fitting” for my prosthetic today (and I used that term very loosely because what she did was gave me a catalog and told me to pick three styles of bra I liked, and berated me for “wearing the wrong size bras”… it was an ordeal). After the way today went, I’m resigning myself to having to research a prosthetic…

New to Piqray
I just started Piqray, 300 mg, 14 days ago. I am a type 2 diabetic. I have been able to manage my blood glucose without insulin. However, this piqray has done a number on my blood glucose. My endocrinologist started me on insulin, and started me at bedtime and before each meal. I go back to the endocrinologist and my…

Immunotherapy - Anastrozole to Tamoxifen
I am through surgery, chemo and radiation and actually did fairly well through all three, all things considered. I started on Anastrozole in January 2022 but found the joint pain to be almost unbearable. Switched to Tamoxifen in October 2022. Joint pain much better so that's a plus. But I just don't feel like myself. I…

Any high Ki67 survivor stories out there?
I would LOVE to hear from ANY survivors who had high Ki67 !!!! (Also hormone positive with high Ki67). My Ki67 is 75%, which feels like a death sentence, even though half way through chemo, the tumor has shrunk by about 80%. It has been an emotionally challenging week and I could use some positive (really positive) stories.

Stubble Head
Strange question. I had my head shaved 2 weeks after my first TC-H chemo when my hair started falling out in clumps. I’ve had 2 more treatments since and my hair “stubble” is still just like it was after clipping. Stubbly, prickly, pulling my scarves all over my head. Is this normal? Will this stubble eventually fall out…
