Starting Radiation October 2019
Is anyone else starting radiation in October? I was supposed to start today but it took them so long to do the x-rays and more markings that they mercifully postponed the treatment until tomorrow--which is October. I will be having 30 treatments over six weeks.

All about Xeloda
I will complete my first cycle of Xeloda today (2 weeks on; one week off). I have already noticed some signs of HFS on my feet. Sometimes they are red and feel hot. I've had some minor skin peeling, but not any blistering. The heels are the worst (the most sensitive) and it is uncomfortable to walk. I hope I get to see the…

Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?
I am an "older" woman with breast cancer (I was diagnosed at 65 and am now 66). I notice that most of the posts seem to be from people younger than I am (often by quite a bit...). I'd love to "talk" with others my age, exchange info about their diagnoses, effects on their lives, etc. I see that there is a forum for young…

Illinois ladies facing bc
I'm very curious about all the Illinois ladies who are making this breast cancer journey or who have finished it. Where are you located? What's your diagnosis? Where are you in your treatment plan? How's it going for you? I thought we might be surprised to find somebody right in our own back yard that could use some…

De Novo Stage IV
I'm wondering if there is a topic just for de novo Stage IV. I'd like to know how people found out. Did you have symptoms that led you to the doctor for an answer? Was it found out of the blue when you had another issue and how was it found? Are there others like me who have never shown it in your breast but only where it…

So...whats for dinner?
I thought it might be fun to start a thread on what we are having, making or had for dinner. Sometimes it is the best tuna steak you ever had, sometimes it's a can of soup. But we all do it every night in some form or another. Maybe we can give each other ideas on what to make, or bitch about what we had, or the fact that…

BIRADS 5 Awaiting Biopsy Results & Very Anxious
I very well understand that I should not dwell on all the possible diagnoses that might come back from my biopsy. However, quite honestly, this is consuming all my thoughts and energy. I am so scared of the unknown and of what a cancer diagnosis could do to my family and my life. Only my husband, my sisters, and one friend…

Starting year 18
For those who remember me, when I first got here and was out-of-my-mind-afraid, thought I would update. 17 years has gone by…time flies. Cannot believe I'll be starting year 18…lots of other stuff to deal with (myself and DH) but so far, no BC recurrence that I am aware of. I mostly post on the what's for dinner or the…

Waiting on biopsy
Hi! Never thought I'd be here, but I guess that's the same for everyone. Long story short, I found a lump while in the shower a few weeks ago. Went to see PCP, referred for mammogram and ultrasound. Got back the report with a bi rads score of 5. Findings: Heterogeneously dense breasts. Upper Inner quadrant, 1 o'clock,…

Ibrance (Palbociclib)
A bottle of Ibrance came in the mail today. I will start taking it tonight with Femara. Hoping that others starting on this drug will join me here to talk about side effects and how to avoid or treat them. So far, I've been warned about low white counts. I run very low as it is, probably because of my extensive bone mets.…

HRT after Breast Cancer? Maybe!
I just wanted to share this information I've found. The first is a book cowritten by an oncologist, Dr Bluming, called Estrogen Matters. The second is an article he just had published in Cancer Journal entitled 'HRT after Breast Cancer - It Is Time.' I would be happy to send a copy of the article to anyone as he was kind…

Abemaciclib Verzenio for All Stages
I've noticed there is a Verzenio discussion in the Stage IV only section, and another in the Stage III forum. I'm starting this thread because I think there could be a benefit from sharing between all the stages - especially when, and if, Verzenio becomes a more common standard of treatment. I started Verzenio 14 months…

Calling all triple negative breast cancer patients in the UK
With so many forums and threads on this site to go through for information, I thought it would be a good idea for all of us in the UK to form a forum specifically for us, and to give our details and experiences in a compact manner. Anyone else in the world is welcome to join in. I was diagnosed with a very large tumour,…

Unfortunately it appears I am back.
Made it almost five years. I was concerned about slowly rising TM so had a CT last summer. I did see something on some of the vertebrae when they showed me the scan but was told it was just some arthritis. Returned this month and on what was to be my last routine CT scan, before they sent me off into the “every two year…
