Laughing at and with myself
As much as I like this forum/site, I was feeling incredibly ignorant and behind every time I connected. Everyone that posts lists all the letters, numbers, definers of their diagnosis. I kept thinking how do they have this memorized? Do they have a post it note on their laptop, or copy and paste? I am still just trying to…

CT and Lung Nodules
I cannot find my previous thread, but this is my newest CT scan. So far I have had them in November, January, April, and today. I had a PET in November that lit up on a couple of spots in my left lung and three level 2 cervical nodes. Currently on a watch and see. Anyone have some information on this newest scan? Not…

Anastrozole and sinus issues
Hi- It's been awhile since I've been on here. I was diagnosed in May 2014 with ILC. I had surgery, followed with radiation, and then a prescription for Anastrozole. I've had the usual side effects of insomnia and aches and pains, but have just been watching the calendar knowing that my 5 years will be coming up next year…

Are you currently (or have you been) in a Clinical Trial?
I am about to start a clinical trial and am wondering about the experiences of others. I'm feeling a little rocky and at sea, because I've been in the care of a wonderful oncologist for the past three years, and I knew without a doubt that his prime objective was the same as mine - to keep me stable and maintain a good…

Gardening, anyone?
I'm still under a ton of snow, and it's only 9 degrees today, but I just signed up for our county's Master Gardening program. Now I can't wait to dig in the dirt. I have little knowledge and hope these classes help. I love flowers and plants but do not have a clue what to do with them. I'd love to hear from others who…

Poll: How do you manage hard feelings and moments?
With spring here, some days feel a bit lighter, and some are really hard. There's the version of you that you share at the spring barbecue, the family dinner, the "how are you doing" in the parking lot. And then there's the real one. The side effects no one warned you about. The urgent bathroom runs that mean canceling…

Diet changes
So, I am newly diagnosed with IDC found with a lump by my collarbone. A real wakeup call. The last 3 weeks I have made drastic life changes, mostly diet. Gave up red meat, hubbies cooking (he always tries but sabotages, good cook and I was eating huge portions) and started eating small meals of good food, cut all bad carbs…

Going from Letrozole to Faslodex
I have been on Verzenio and Letrozole since my Stage 4 diagnosis 14 months ago. My Mets are in my left lung pleural lining and a node in my right axillary. I found out this week that my most recent PET/CT scan showed mild progression so my oncologist wants to keep me on the Verzenio but change me from Letrozole…

ILC Long Term Survivors
Does anybody know people, or are you someone who has survived ILC long term, (more than 5 to 10 years) without a recurrence? Please post! I was diagnosed in 2004, and think I am fine, but, as I see from the boards, you can never be 100% sure. Thanks! Nancy

SGAP Flap reconstruction
Has anyone had an SGAP Flap done? I’m considering it and looking for any information I can get. I’m not a candidate for implants or DIEP flap. Had a DMX end of Sept with tissue expanders. Infection on the right side and had to remove that TE. I still have the TE on the left side and was just going to have them do an…

autologous fat transfer - poor result
last week I had liposuction and fat transferred to the breast area where I had a mastectomy. I also had a lift and reduction on the other side. I was a D on that side and now it's probably a small B. The fat transfer doesn't show any noticeable increase in the volume of the breast. I understand there are limits to what the…

Phesgo vs. H&P side effects
Hello all, I’m interested in hearing from others who’ve been on both Phesgo and H&P. Specifically, I’d like to know if you experienced more fatigue and worse side effects with Phesgo. I was dx’d in 2018 Stage IV de novo and did 6 rounds of Taxotere and H&P. I’ve been on maintenance treatment since then and have completed…

Seroma non infection
Hello everyone. It has been a while since I was on here. But I have questions and need your help and I know this entire community is amazing. I was here everyday during chemo and all my treatments. I had to have an implant removed last year due to infection. Fast forward to now and I had another tissue expander exchange on…

bone mets
I have not been here for several years. I was diagnosed in 2016 with stage 2A ER+ PR- Her2-, one positive lymph node. I had lumpectomy, chemo, radiation and just started my 10th year on anastrozole. Today I had my annual breast MRI and got a call from my oncologist shortly after. I have a highly suspicious 4 cm lesion in…

Stopping Tamoxifen
I swore I would manage this but recently figured out that all these health problems are actually side effects from tamoxifen. it started out manageable. horrific nausea but weed fixed that. hot flashes were annoying but occasional and did not last long. then i started getting severe stomach pains that confined me to bed…

Overwhelmed
This is new for me. I can't sleep so I thought I would try to connect. I had a mamo, then a mamo with ultra sound, then a mamo with biopsy, and then an mri. I was supposed to schedule surgery but just found out I have to have a MRI with biopsy [my surgeon was sensitive enough to post it in my chart and schedule though we…

I had a biopsy and clip placed 2 years ago after my first exam showed a spot everything ended up being fine .these were the findings from that biopsy 2 years ago (benign adipose tissue and blood with focal fibrosis, columnar cell change, and apocrine metaplasia.) What to expect the next 5 years
It all started back in December 2025 with a routine mammogram. Then a diagnostic ultra sound and mammogram of the right breast, next a biopsy . It has been an emotional roller coaster since I was diagnosed back in January 2026. It all happened so fast. Diagnosed after a biopsy with invasive ductal carcinoma stage 1.…

Lumpectomy vs mastectomy decision
Diagnosed Feb 2026. IDC, Grade 1, HR+, HER 2 negative, Ki67 22percent I think I am still in disbelief. No family history. Also did genetic testing, BRCA testing shows no mutations at all. In addition, in 2019, was diagnosed with low grade, non muscle invasive bladder cancer. I get monitored every 3 months for that, it has…

20 year survivors (or more) of triple negative breast cancer
Today is pretty exciting, I am officially a 20 year survivor of triple negative breast cancer.. pinch me!! Are there others out there who have reached this milestone? I wrote frequently on this forum in 2006. I am from Calgary AB Canada, was 42 when diagonsed in 2006 stage IIA, grade 3, 1 postive breast node. Was in a…

Mammograms
hi all, I know that this is a silly question, but I still have to ask. Do mammograms, especially mammograms that use tomosynthesis (3D) look at the entire breast or one specific area? I had a questionable area, the radiographer place a marker on the top of it, and then took the images. I received a Birads 2 but it makes me…

Recurrence after 10 years?
Hello, Dx'd with TN cancer 10/27/2015, and then with uterine cancer in 2020. This week, I was taking a shower and felt a lump in my right breast. It is painful to the touch, and it is as though the tissue around the marble-sized lump has disappeared. I know I don't know for sure, but I know —I am sure you all know what I…

Long term survivor examples.
Just an idea came across my mind. Can we share stories and examples of long term triple negative survivors. They dont participate in such forums. So its only by word of mouth that we get to hear about them. But I also see few of them in this website, who themselves are long term survivors. I feel so happy to see how they…
