Post radiation skin reaction
I’m 3 weeks post radiation treatment. Last week, my right breast (treated area) turned bright pink and itchy. I was given a topical steroid and have seen my radiation oncologist twice this week. He’s hoping the cream will start to do its job. Next step is an oral steroid. The need to want to itch is horrible. The more I…

I have chronic pain in those 2 areas anyway and usuallytake 1/2 dose NyQuil to sleep. This pain is much worse and just throbs…

Aromatase Inhibitors and GERD?
Hello friends, Has anyone dealt with reflux or GERD while taking AI’s? If so, have you used medication to deal with it and what was the result? (I’m on my second AI, so that’s 2 1/2 years with severe reflux. Working with a gastroenterologist now to manage the reflux and try to stay on Exemestane for a few more years.)…

Fearful of Gadolinium Breast MRI

Basically…I don't need any more problems. The dr will not allow me to have it without…

Tiffany`s Twenty Terrific Tips for TC
I just wanted to share with everyone my tips for getting through TC chemo, which I think helped me a lot. My only symptoms were a touch of nausea on days 3-4, a bit of diarrhea, constipation, dry mouth, and fatigue. I never got sick. 1. During chemo and for several days afterwards, drink a LOT of water. I drank 3 liters a…

LCIS - BC in family -- NIGHTLY HOT FLASHES & PALPITATIONS - Can't sleep - MISERABLE & CONFUSED
Hello, I am 61 and have been in menopause one decade. I lost my dear sister to BC at age 42. About 10 years ago I had a surgical biopsy that said LCIS. Since then normal mammos but dense breasts. I have waited for these symptoms to "pass" but now it's pretty clear they never will. My nightly routine is horrible…

82 years old
And yes, Metastic Breast cancer, removed 1 breast, now cancer free. No chemo, no radiation. All in 1 month time. Odd that health insurance says, " no more Mammograms after 80 yrs. of age. " Insisted my Dr. order one, he did, it did not find the lump last yr. But this year there was 2 lumps, I found. Quickly assessed, and…

Post Radiation Side Effects
While my radiologist shared all of the pros and cons, he didn't share the "by the way" side effects. On a positive note, I discovered, thru trial and error, that calendula GEL is very helpful in healing the deep pitting and leathery issues post radiation. On the not so positive side, about a year after the radiation, I…

Lets conduct our own study on how we all got breast cancer
We have an excellent cohort of diagnosed people here, let's see if we can find the common denominator among us. We've all learned with this disease, we need to doctor ouselves, why not conduct our own scientific research? It can't be that difficult. I'll go first. 1. how many of you women, in junior high school, ever had a…

New Diagnosis
I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, two large masses in my left breast. HER negative, estrogen/progesterone positive. Shopping/packing/to-do list for surgery + recovery....
OK, I admit it, I am a compulsive planner. I have had some great suggestions and tips not only regarding what to bring to the hospital, but also on how to prepare the house to make the recovery as easy as possible. I am travelling for surgery so, for me, "packing" includes the first 10 days of post-op care. I thought I…

Radiation Shrinkage after Lumpectomy
While I am grateful to have only needed a lumpectomy, one breast is now half the size of the other breast as a result of radiation. Bodies change. Futures may feel uncertain. And…
