Phantom Itching 2 years post reconstruction
I still have horrible phantom itching. I was so hoping that was going to go away by now. Does anyone else have this same problem this long after the reconstruction surgery. Do you know some ways to relieve the itching, I've tried so many things from creams to ice packs, nothing seems to help.

Starting my Fifth Year of Metastatic Breast Cancer, taking Taxol and Sleeping A LOT!
I just finished Taxol #4, this was with a 10% reduced dose. Lots and lots of naps needed. Not used to being so dependent on naps. Slight fever in the 99s, just wondering if this is my new regimine. I was told I will stay on Taxol until it stops working. Estrogen inhibitors like Ibrance, Verzinio, and Faslodex did NOT work…

Asymmetry and architectural distortion
Went for my 6 month check up (due to multiple biopsies in left breast and one in right also had adh in left). Impression shows asymmetry in the right breast and questioned architectural distortion in the right medial breast. Was also reported that I have extremely dense breasts. Follow up mammogram and ultrasound not until…

Husbands/Partners of Stage IV Breast Cancer
I'm not entirely sure how to start; I don't post, I don't do Facebook and I have no idea how to go about this. My wife just went through her 2nd round of chemo for her2+ stage 4 breast cancer that also shows in her liver. She's 34. She's as diagnosed maybe 8 weeks ago Question is: where is the forum for the husbands? I…

Things just aren't the same
My boyfriend and I started dating two months before my diagnosis, he has been through it all with me and I know he loves me but things aren't the way they used to be. Before you know the kissing the touching etc., after my surgery and since (surgery was June 23rd) it feels like I'm begging for that kind of intimacy. I've…

Recently diagnosed
Hi all, I’m new to this forum and some other patients I have met recommended me to come here. I just got diagnosed with stage 2A ductal invasive carcinoma, ER+/PR+/ HER- and I’m 26 years old. I have a 3.2 cm lump in my left breast. The treatment they want me to do is chemotherapy first even though they said there is a…

lymphedema - IV and blood pressure cuff in same arm for later surgery?
I'm about to undergo hip replacement surgery and I know an IV will be placed and BP will be monitored at the same time. I have lymphedema in one arm. How is this accomplished when one arm should have neither an IV nor a BP cuff? Thanks.

MIDDLE-AGED WOMEN 40-60ish
This thread was created for "middle-aged" women. At the time, we didn't have our own category on the pull-down Forum menu. The ages 40-60 in the header are unofficial--we don't "card" anyone, (wink, wink) --- so if you are close in age it's meant for you as well. We aren't young with small children. Many of us have just…

ABUS found something / mammo clear
Hi all, I have had mammograms since I turned 40 (and am now 47) and my GYN suggested ABUS in addition to mammogram because I am category C re: breast density. Mammo was clear but I heard from GYN that they found a 7 mm area in the right breast that they want to examine further (BIRADS 0). GYN said to call breast center…

Cold Caps and African-American Hair
Hello all, I thought I'd start this thread to share my experience with cold caps and African-American hair. I just started chemo and would like to save some of my hair, and some sense of normalcy, if I can. BC has turned a lot of things upside down - and hanging onto a small part of myself would be encouraging. There's a…

Dizziness on verzenio or fulvestrant
Hi all, anyone get dizzy or faint while on either? I got up to pee last night and got super dizzy heading back to bed. Found myself on the floor of the bathroom after fainting 😲I’ve never passed out in my life so it was pretty scary. I was only out for a second or two, the dizziness went away quickly and I didn’t hurt…

Impacts from radiation
My apologies if this has already been discussed, but I’m having a major issue with the breast that had the original lump/lumpectomy. I finished radiation years ago, but my breasts are now at least 2 sizes different. The radiated one is much smaller, like at least 2 cup sizes smaller. How do you deal? I have inserts, but…

Radiation
I started my first radiation treatment yesterday. I’m supposed to receive 15 total. I would say my breast feels tender and afterwards it was slightly achy. However, I am TIRED. I went to bed a bit earlier because I was tired early. I’m tired today also. Does this sound normal? I was told that the fatigue would come on…

Cyst like lesion
Hi! I had some imaging done today because I’ve had pain on my left side. The report came back with this comment - “Unusual 2.1cm thick walled peripherally enhancing possible cyst in the left adnexa.” Not sure what that means other than there is some kind of mass/maybe cyst on or near my left ovary. I know tamoxifen can…

Stage III and almost 6 years on hormone therapy
I’m about six years cancer free. I had a bilateral mastectomy with 14 cancerous nodes, rads and chemo, and my onc recommended I continue hormone therapy for another four years for a total of 10. I’ve switched back and forth between letrozole, exemestane and tamoxifen due to side fx. I lasted almost 4 years on tam but last…

Gloves & Socks for Icing Hands & Feet During Chemo
Hi Everyone - I just finished my chemotherapy and used gloves and socks with blue ice inserts to ice my hands and feet during the chemo to prevent neuropathy. Since I am finished with them now, I'd love to be able to pass them on to someone who could use them. I have quite a supply - 2 sets of gloves with an extra set of…

Zoladex shot and Tamoxifen

Three-Stage DIEP?
I'm scheduled to have my implants removed next month as part of my post-mastectomy DIEP. However, the Stage I and Stage II I see described in many posts isn't what my PS has planned. My Stage I surgery is only on my abdomen - something about isolating the blood flow to the tissue that will be transferred, so the remaining…

male, undiagnosed but concerned after Multiple CT scans last year-
I had several CT scans two years ago for non-cancer related issues that have since resolved, but am now having some breast symptoms I'm afraid might be something serious. Unfortunately, I'm laid off and have sky-high health insurance deductibles, so I'm trying to do my due diligence before getting professional advice. Can…

Second time for me
It's good to know this forum exists. Had a lump in my armpit and, after waiting seemingly a long time to get a biopsy, it came back malignant. Same cancer, I think, as the larger tumor that was removed in my mastectomy in 2018. Doctor I spoke to said there is still breast tissue — "axillary tail"— left after mastectomy. I…

Did you spend the night in hospital after bilateral mastectomy
Did you spend the night in the hospital after your bilateral mastectomy? My surgeon said he would probably send me home, but it seems like an extensive surgery, so I'm wondering what others did. I am having reconstruction at a later time, not the same time as mastectomy. I am having a skin-sparring mastectomy with…
