Zometa and knee replacement surgery?
I am scheduled for my first Zometa infusion next week and I have a partial knee replacement ia month later (and my pre-op med review is two weeks before the surgery). Does anyone know anything about having bone surgery within a month of Zometa? Want to get this surgery behind me so I can get back outside!

The Hermit Club
Hey all.....just got done reading a great thread under this topic about feeling like a hermit through this process, was wondering who else out there feels like cocooning themselves right now? I'm mid treatment with my chemo, and have basically isolated myself somewhat because I feel that all my energy is expended just…

Radiation as Palliative Care
Hello everyone. I hope it's ok that I'm starting this thread because I did a search and couldn't find anything specific to this topic. I'm looking for feedback from anyone who has received Radiation treatment for palliative purposes only. What was your experience with it? Did it actually help ease the pain or did it…

Osteoporosis and Tamoxifen
I am wondering if there is anyone out there who has been taking Tamoxifen and has been diagnosed with Osteoporosis. I am 48 and just had a DEXA scan, and it confirms Osteoporosis. :( My oncologist said that typically it shouldn't cause issues in pre-menopausal women, but there are some paradoxical instances where it does!…

Pissed off.
I was recently diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma. I've decided if this can come back, I want a double mastectomy. My mother in law asks me what does your husband think of that? My response, he is supporting me in whatever I decided to do. Then she says, Remember we're all going through this. I want to say NO YOUR…

walnut-sized lump at chest wall
i went in for an ultrasound yesterday and the radiologist told me that the lump she sees and feels is “more than likely” cancerous - especially because of a lymph node in my armpit that looks like its swollen. Why would she tell me this without a biopsy? The images didn't show any fingers sprouting it was just a black lump…

Recurrence in same breast previous 2 lumpectomies - mastectomy?
I have just been dx with IDC, tumor 1.2 cm grade 2, in same breast that I had DCIS, 2 lumpectomies and radiation 16 years ago. We are talking mastectomy, but wondering if anyone ever had a small tumor in a previously treated breast and just had lumpectomy? Some scattered DCIS was also found on the biopsy this month. Just…

Need help in making decision on starting AI and ovarian suppression vs Tamoxifen alone
Im ER+, PR+, HER-, Stage 1 ,grade 2, 1 lymph node, post double mastectomy with oncotype of 12. The oncologist said my risk of recurrence is 13% and will go down by 2.3% if I do Chemo or take Anastrazole with ovarian suppression. As an alternative I can take Tamoxifen. I declined Chemo as 2.3% seems not significant to go…

How about kidney stones!
I was getting ready to go to work (two days ago) when I was struck by the most incredible pain on my left side/flank. Something was very wrong. For about 30 seconds I thought I could drive myself to the ER but realized that an ambulance was needed (texted family who called 911 for me). I simply cannot describe the pain and…

Change in breast lump
When I first discovered my lump, it was about an inch deep in my breast. It's now at the surface, red and swollen. This is my fear, I've had lumps before and they always want away.

Piqray users, what is your experience?
I just started on Piqray and Faslodex after Ibrance and Arimidex stopped being effective. I am weakly ER positive and PR negative, so I can't say it was a complete surprise that at some point that would occcur. I would be interested in hearing from others how you are doing on this very new medication. So far, the only side…

PCOS
Hi, I have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). I have not been officially diagnosed but I most likely have HR+ breast cancer. I also have a serious history of depression. Tamoxifen interacts with my medications. I understand that ovarian function needs to be suppressed in pre-menopausal women which is why aromatase…

MRI Biopsy
I am 8 years out from triple negative BC and have been doing well. My last mammogram showed a very small area of concern. Watch and wait was suggested but my last cancer was very aggressive and grew quickly so I'm not inclined to watch and wait. I have asked for a biopsy but because it is so small, it will be difficult to…

Salpingo-oophorectomy experiences and tips?
Hello, I decided to get this procedure done so I don't need to be dependent on the monthly shots. I understand that the surgery itself is pretty quick and straightforward, but I was surprised about the recovery instructions and a whole month without lifting more than 10 pounds. Also the doctor recommended two weeks off…

High creatinine, high ketones?
I am not sure how common these side effects are, but I've been experiencing them so I thought I'd check in and see if there's anyone who has already experienced these and can maybe shed some light on what I might expect. My meds include kisqali and letrozole. Not sure what might be causing the issues. TMI time: I noticed…

1 Year appointment and stressed!!
I just had my 1 year appointment. Everything went good, however my Dr. recommended me getting an ultrasound. I have had two mammograms since my lumpectomy and the first one said post surgical changes and a seroma and the second one said no changes. However, I have a hard lump directly where the lumpectomy bed is. It is…

Chronically itchy nipple...Dx'd with PASH in 2020
Hi, all- Just a brief history: I am a 50 year old post-menopausal woman with dense breasts and a family history of BC. In 2020, my annual mammogram revealed a small cluster of calcifications in my right breast, after which time I underwent a stereotactic needle biopsy. The results were benign showing columnar cell changes…

The wait begins...lumps between breast & collarbone
Scans scheduled for next week, already told will likely also be biopsied. When I saw the lump last week had no idea it could be associated to breast cancer. Don't think anyone has ever even looked at or felt this area, even during breast exams. About 1" above the right breast, 2-3" below collarbone. Largest near the…

Recurrence after mastectomy
Hi, I just found out there’s a tiny nodule with residual DCIS, 10 months post mastectomy. I’m freaking out about these new findings. Has anyone experienced a recurrence post mastectomy? My surgeon plans to perform a lumpectomy followed by radiation. I’m terrified it will have spread elsewhere since recurring so quickly.…

MRI for higher risk cases (for my daughter)
Hello, dear All I am this time trying to find out what to advice to my daughter, who is healthy, and she is 46 years old.
