Any Long term two time breast cancer survivors out there?
Hello I was diagnosed with breast cancer (Triple positive) in 2017, went through the whole gamut of treatment - masectomy, taxol / Herceptin and 5 years of tamoxifen. It was classified last stage 1 early stage. Two years after I stopped tamoxifen, I got diagnosed with breast cancer again. This time it's ER/PR positive but…

DCIS Grade 2. Anyone told to skip hormone blockers?
I was diagnosed with a wide span of DCIS, Grade 2. I had a lumpectomy and reconstruction on my right breast and a reduction on my left, clear margins, no invasive detected. My oncologist recommends I do radiation but no hormone therapy. He feels it is not needed and will not change my long-term outcome. I am wondering if…

My husband swears he can't smell anything, but every time my 22 year old comes over the first thing out of her mouth is, "What is that smell?" I wash my sheets every two days... help

Herceptin Side Effects
As a 22+ year survivor of Stage 4 MBC de novo, I have been on Herceptin for about 21 years. I have not had any problems until about a year ago. During the infusion, I have chills and shaking. Sometimes it helps to request a warm blanket, hot cocoa and turning on the seat heaters. As soon as I leave the chemo center and if…

To rephrase Prince: tonight I'm gonna party like it's 19 years survived!
OK, what I'm really going to do tonight is visit my BC support group meeting - but that's still a monumental occasion because the pandemic has intensified so many of my phobias. HOWEVER: I'm blessed to be able to work virtually at the job I've had for 47 years. I'm grateful to have reached 40 years of marriage last year.…

FLAT vs FLAP
Hello. I am scheduled for total BMX in 3 weeks. I scheduled an AFC. I was always adamant about going flat. But I do have a large round bellly even though I am active (or I was prior to chemo). Now I'm terrified i won't like or accept the way I look. Plus I'll be put in menopause so it'll make it harder to lose weight. The…

"Roll Call" for those who've stopped Hormonal Therapy early - short post to share status?
If you quit or reduced hormone therapy and don't mind sharing future status at least once a year, could you share concisely current cancer status (no evidence of disease, metastisis, new breast cancer) or other health facts? This will give an easy to follow thread of results of quitting. It is such a gut wrenching decision…

The long wait for tests is emotionally exhausting
This will be my fourth post about what is becoming a never ending nightmare waiting game for a tests and diagnosis. Decision Time -to wait or not wait to biopsy
hi everyone. I am struggling to make a decision. History: Started HRT in mid 2023 due to horrific menopause affecting my home and work life. Have been losing weight, assumed stress related and being on Trulicity for years. (Slow weight loss over the years until this last year). Noticed changes in my “more innie than outie”…

TNBC Brain Mets - Looking For Hope
Good morning all, first time poster here - having trouble finding similar stories, much less successful stories, that fit the scary place I'm in now. Pea sized lump - Fibro?
hi all! Well I’ve had many mammos and ultrasounds over the years for dense breasts with lots of lumps, and one biopsy in 2019 for 2 fibros that were overlapping. No cancer and after being on the watch list for 2.5 years I went back to normal testing. A couple weeks back I did a self exam and found a very different kind of…

Implant Reconstruction AFTER Radiation
I have a unique history when it comes to reconstruction. I had saline implants prior to diagnosis and my breast surgeon asked if she could re-implant them when she did my double mastectomy. I then had chemo, followed by radiation. Fast forward 5 years later, and I decided to go for reconstruction. The "old" implants would…

I’d appreciate hearing from anyone taking AIs and a GLP-1 drug for weight loss
I was diagnosed in 11/2022, had bilateral lumpectomy 1/2023 and finished radiation 3/2023. I’ve been taking an aromatase inhibitor for over two years. At first I was on anastrozole and I recently switched to exemestane to see if a switch would help some of my side effects (joint pain, mood swings, anxiety, insomnia). I was…
